What media can I use in these journals?

Our Art Companion journals are designed for a variety of creative mediums, including graphite, colored pencils, ink, watercolor, gouache, and light mixed media applications.

What paper do your art journals use?

Are these journals lay-flat?

Yes. Most Art Companion journals are bound using techniques that allow them to open comfortably and lay flat while you work.

Can I use both sides of the paper?

In most cases, yes. Especially in our Artist-grade 300 GSM watercolor paper, it is designed to handle heavier applications of watercolor, ink, and mixed media with minimal warping or show-through. If you'll be using our variant with lighter GSM watercolor paper, you may notice more texture, buckling, or slight bleed-through depending on how much water or pigment is applied.
